- As per the latest updates on the official IMD website for MP, all the districts in the state will be under Yellow alert on August 5. However, the alert status is subject to change as the forecast changes.
- On August 4, the IMD announced a red alert for 10 districts in the state, including the capital city of Bhopal
- Moreover, 18 districts in the state are under Orange alert on August 4
- The remaining 41 districts are all under yellow alert
- Sagar District in Madhya Pradesh is under Red Alert and if the rain continues till morning the authorities might declare a holiday on August 4th
- Raisen District is receiving extreme rainfall. If it continues till Monday morning the authorities may declare a holiday across different schools and colleges

- The state goverment has made the announcement that some districts may face a flood-like situation as a result of the Damodar Valley Corporation releasing a large quantity of water.
- As per the IMD official website, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong and Alipurduar are under orange alert for August 5. Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Pashchim Bhardaman and Purba Bhardhaman are under Yellow alert.
- On August 4, the northern districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Uttar Dinajpur (North Dinajpur), Dakshin Dinajpur (South Dinajpur) and Malda are under yellow alert

- Today, on August 4, heavy rainfall was experienced in the districts of Lalitpur, Jhansi and Mahoba. All the other districts in the state are under green zone.
