This low-pressure is likely to develop into a depression in the coming 48 to 72 Hours giving rise to a powerful cyclone and causing landfall in Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Odisha. Considering the severity of the situation, the government has closed schools in several parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. As the situation is only going to get worse, the School Holiday Due to Rain on 17 October 2024 in several districts of Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Odisha are expected. In fact, Andhra Pradesh has already announced a three-day holiday in schools and colleges due to rain.
