School Holiday 13 September 2024 Due to Rain (Live): In light of the severe rainfall that has gripped the Northern Indian states - Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, authorities of several districts have announced the closure of schools on September 13, 2024. The decision was made to prioritize the safety of students and staff amid the turbulent weather conditions. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for New Delhi, warning of moderate to high risks of flash floods in certain areas. The IMD has also alerted residents of west Uttar Pradesh to be cautious of the potential for flash floods.
Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district has also announced the closure of schools on September 13, 2024, effective immediately. The orders to close schools apply to government and private institutions in the affected regions. According to the officials, “Teachers will work as per the instructions of the school management. Strict compliance with the said order should be ensured". Further, according to the IMD weather forecast, heavy rainfall is expected to continue in West Uttar Pradesh until early Saturday. In response to the deteriorating weather conditions, the IMD has issued an orange alert for the state.
