NTA Not to Conduct Entrance Exam for Recruitment: Traditionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts various entrance exams for higher courses and recruitment exams. To be precise, NTA conducts over 16 entrance examinations and 10 recruitment examinations. NTA single-handedly has held all these exams successfully. However, as the NTA will be restructured in 2025, it is planning to drop off recruitment examinations and only conduct higher-level entrance examinations.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today in the parliament stated that "NTA will conduct only entrance exams for higher education institutions from 2025 and not recruitment exams". As the Government is looking at moving to Computer Based Test (CBT) and tech-driven entrance exams in the near future, NTA will only focus on the Entrance examinations from 2025..
Also, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan added that he is in talks with the Health Ministry on whether to conduct NEET-UG in pen-paper mode or online. Moreover, the Minister also stated that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will continue to be conducted once a year from 2025.
After facing several backlashes regarding the NEET UG paper leak which lead to the cancellation of examinations and exam postponement controversy. To overcome all these issues, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will soon call a meeting with the Health Ministry. Also, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the reformed document regarding the same.
