Section A comprises 40 marks and consists of short-answer questions covering the entire syllabus. These questions may include definitions, reasoning, and direct questions, as well as tasks such as labelling diagrams, matching columns, or differentiating between concepts. Section B, also worth 40 marks, features long-answer questions with internal choices, typically requiring detailed explanations, diagrams, and in-depth reasoning.
There will also be diagram-based questions, which will involve detailed labelling or construction of diagrams. Further, according to the ICSE 10th Biology Blue Print 2025, the internal assessment, comprising 20 marks, will cover Project work and practical experiments. This component will be evaluated by the school based on the quality of the student's work and their performance in a viva voce examination.
