CBSE Refuses Syllabus Reduction and Open Book Exam in 10th and 12th Board 2025: In a significant decision, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that there will be no reduction in the syllabus for the 10th and 12th board exams in 2025. Additionally, the CBSE has ruled out the possibility of conducting open-book exams for these classes. Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced a potential 15% reduction in the syllabus or the introduction of open book exams for the 10th and 12th board examinations in 2025. However, according to the recent notification, the board has clarified that the current academic calendar and examination pattern will remain unchanged.

On Thursday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) denied reports about a reduction in the syllabus and the implementation of open book exams for the 10th and 12th board examinations in 2025 by releasing the official statement on the CBSE website. This decision comes amidst growing speculation and concerns among students and parents regarding the academic workload and potential impacts of recent changes in the educational field. 

“The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially refuted claims circulating on various online platforms and print media regarding a 15% reduction in the curriculum and the implementation of open book exams for selected subjects in the 2025 board examinations for classes 10 and 12. The CBSE has clarified that no such changes have been made to its examination or internal assessment systems, and no official notification has been issued in this regard. The board urges students, parents, and educators to rely on official sources for accurate information”, stated the official release. 

The CBSE's decision has sparked mixed reactions. Further, the official has mentioned that any updates or changes in the policy will be communicated through the official website on time. The CBSE has provided additional resources and support to students, including online study materials and counselling services to assist them in better preparation for the upcoming board exams.
