As of August 4, IMD has issued red alerts on August 5 for Phalghar, Pune and Satara while the other western districts are under orange alert. However, this status is subject to change.
The city of Pune has been placed under high alert as dams have been overflowing and alerts for possible floods have been announced.
On August 4, the districts of Satara, Pune, Nasik, Palghar, and Raigad are on Red alert and expected to receive Heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The coming two days are very crucial for Maharashtra as IMD is expecting the state to receive heavy rainfall which can result in flood-like situation
