The district administration has declared a holiday for all government and private schools. Note that the school officials have come to this decision in order to protect the students from the ill exposure of the heatwave. In addition, there are several district schools in the state that have reported students falling sick and cases of fainting due to extreme heat conditions. The administration has taken precautions such as, change in school timing with the aim of reducing students exposure during afternoon. In Assam, the schools were open from 7.30 AM to 12.30 PM. Moreover, the authorities had also closed down any school assemblies and outdoor activities conducted owing to heat conditions in the state.
