New Age Skill-Based Learning: Many schools today are focusing on the enhancement of students' critical analyzing and reasoning abilities in children. A Scottish teacher from England and author Alexander Sutherland Neil inspired the free school movement in 1921, aimed at students New Age Skill-Based Learning.
Tajpura village has an unconventional teaching-learning space named Gdhyana Sanshodhana Nagari on the outskirts of Vadodara. The space has put the concept of experiential learning, critical analyzing and reasoning abilities into practice. Note that it was started by an IIT-Bombay alumnus and has it's own 'rakhdu toli' of 15 children aged between four and nine years.
Brijesh Patel, the founder of Gdhyana, stated, "Our 'toli' explored the Sahyadri range, the western Konkan coastal region, learned about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's reign besides experiencing several concepts first-hand".
Alexander Sutherland Neil's book, "A Dominie's Five", was translated by Gijubhai Badheka. The latter is a renowned educator credited for helping introduce the Montessori education method in India. In addition, this translation for this New Age Skill-Based Learning book was titled "Rakhdu Toli" by Badheka.
Students must remember that the group and six volunteers have embarked upon a 12-day road trip to Maharashtra. Furthermore, the distance covered by this road trip is approximately 2,500km. Notably, the kids scaled Torna Fort, the highest hillfort in Pune, with the help of a trekking trail twice as much as Girnar.
