Lack of Adequate Nursery School Seats in Delhi: Alarming Signs for the Country
The minimum availability of nursery school seats in Delhi has become a major concern among parents. How will this affect the entire country?
Lack of Adequate Nursery School Seats in Delhi: No, it's not NEET or JEE exams parents must worry about. Instead, parents of an infant in Delhi must worry about how to get a seat in the Nursery Schools of Delhi. Yes, you read it right! The nation's capital has 1.25 lakh seats in 1,700 private nursery schools. This has become a matter of concern among parents.
All the schools had invited applications for Nursery admissions from Nov 23, 2023, to Dec 15, 2023. Schools are reviewing the applications, and the first admission list will be on Jan 12, 2024. Also, the second list of selected students will be released on Jan 29, 2024. Schools have received applications exceeding their capacity.
This development might disappoint parents as their kid might not get admission to the desired school. It is a matter of concern as the struggle to get a seat begins at a young age. However, the demand for Nursery schools will rise further, keeping this development in mind.
After all these issues, the higher admission fee feels like rubbing salt in the wound. Schools are demanding around INR 17,000 monthly as school fees, which has shaken parents. Yet, some parents believe that the schools offer top-class amenities, which is why their fees are justified.
It has become an enormous concern among parents, and this development will spread nationwide. All the schools around the country will tend to copy the trend and implement the same admission structure.
Parents are worried about the exorbitant fee they must pay just for nursery education for their 3-year-old kid. Also, this issue has raised concerns about how the education industry will design fee structures in the future. Parents do feel that the Government intervention is much needed.
