JEE Main 2025 Exam Update: NTA Discontinues Optional Question, Check Revised Pattern

JEE Main 2025 Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notice regarding the important change to the format of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2025) on the official NTA website- nta.ac.in. The authority has decided to discontinue the optional selection question options in Section B of the JEE Examination. It must be noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA) introduced an option selection in Section B of each subject in the JEE (Main) exam during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering candidates to attempt any five questions out of a total of ten questions from JEE (Main). This change was made in order to address the difficulties that the pandemic presented, and it will be in effect for the JEE (Main) exam until 2024.

- With the WHO declaring the end of COVID-19 as a public health emergency on May 5, 2023, the authority is going back to the original exam pattern.
- In Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech), Paper 2A (B. Arch), and Paper 2B (B. Planning), Section B will comprise a maximum of five mandatory questions per subject.
- All the candidates will have to attempt all five questions from each subject in Section B, as the option facility has been discontinued.
- The National Testing Agency will start the application process for the first round of JEE Main 2025 soon on the official website.
