IISc Bangalore to Participate in JoSAA Counselling 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee announced on January 26, 2026, that admission to the BTech programmes of IISc Bengaluru for the Academic Year 2026-27 shall be made through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 using JEE Advanced 2026 ranks. IISc Bangalore offers 52 seats for its 4-year B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing program. The intake includes 40 general seats, 8 supernumerary seats for women candidates (20%), and 4 seats for Foreign Nationals/OCI candidates. Getting a seat at IISc Bangalore is extremely competitive, with acceptance rates generally below 2% for many programs.
This year, IISc Bangalore has officially joined the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 for its BTech program admissions. In the past, IISc Bangalore used its own process for admissions through JEE Advanced scores. - Unified Process: The entire process from registration and mock allotment to final seat acceptance and document verification is now uniform with other top-tier engineering institutes.
- Centralized Counseling: Starting in 2026, candidates will no longer need to apply separately to IISc Bangalore for the B.Tech program. All applications can be submitted through the JoSAA portal.
