IISc Bangalore to Participate in JoSAA Counselling 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee announced on January 26, 2026, that admission to the BTech programmes of IISc Bengaluru for the Academic Year 2026-27 shall be made through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 using JEE Advanced 2026 ranks. IISc Bangalore offers 52 seats for its 4-year B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing program. The intake includes 40 general seats, 8 supernumerary seats for women candidates (20%), and 4 seats for Foreign Nationals/OCI candidates. Getting a seat at IISc Bangalore is extremely competitive, with acceptance rates generally below 2% for many programs.
This year, IISc Bangalore has officially joined the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 for its BTech program admissions. In the past, IISc Bangalore used its own process for admissions through JEE Advanced scores. Now, it will be listed alongside the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) during the seat allocation process. To be eligible for a seat at IISc Bangalore or any of the IITs, students must first clear the JEE Mains and then qualify for the JEE Advanced.
