CLAT 2026 Counselling First Allotment: The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) concluded the CLAT Round 1 Counselling 2026 Registration process on December 27, 2025. For the 2026 academic cycle, only candidates who had qualified for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 and received an official counselling invitation from the Consortium of NLUs were eligible to apply for CLAT 2026 Round 1 Counselling Registration. Considering all the applications received, the Consortium will release the CLAT 2026 Counselling First Allotment. What After CLAT 2026 Counselling First Allotment?
After the CLAT 2026 First Allotment list is published, candidates must take specific actions on the official Consortium of NLUs portal to secure or upgrade their seats.
- Freeze: Select this if you are satisfied with the allotted NLU. You accept the seat permanently and will not participate in further rounds.
- Float: Select this if you accept the current seat but wish to be considered for a higher-preference NLU in subsequent rounds. You will move to a higher preference only if a seat becomes available.
- Exit: Select this if you want to withdraw from the entire counselling process. You forfeit your current seat and will not be considered for any future rounds.
- If you choose Freeze or Float, you must pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of INR 20,000 online between January 7 and 15, 2026.
