CLAT 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment: The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has scheduled the release of CLAT 2026 Counselling First Allotment List for January 7, 2026. Candidates can expect the authorities to activate the CLAT 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment link at around 10:00 AM on the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026. Once released, candidates will be able to check the seat allotted to them based on their CLAT 2026 Scores and the preferences they have filled.

The CLAT 2026 First Seat Allotment List will include details such as All India rank, admit card number, vertical and horizontal reservation category, and admission status. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to secure their seats and pay the confirmation fees before the deadline. The last date to complete the admission and pay the confirmation fees is January 15, 2026.

What’s Next After CLAT 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment?

The seat allotment will be provisional. Candidates will choose between the Freeze, Float, and Exit options to complete the formalities to secure final admission. Following this, candidates will complete the document verification and payment of fees. Here are the details related to every option:

FREEZE - Candidates can select this option if they are satisfied with the seat. These candidates will pay confirmation fees of Rs 20,000, which will be adjusted against the University fees. Candidates who choose to freeze their allotted seats will not participate in further rounds of counselling.
FLOAT - Candidates who have not been allotted their first preference NLU or those who are not satisfied with their allotted college can choose this option. By choosing this option, candidates will have the opportunity to get seats in further rounds. However, such candidates will have to pay confirmation fees of Rs 20,000, which will be adjusted against the university admission fees.
EXIT - If any candidate doesn’t wish to participate in the current or further counselling process, they can choose the exit option. If a candidate has selected this option after choosing the Freeze/Float option, their NLU will be reallocated to another candidate, and the confirmation fees will be forfeited.

After accepting the seats, candidates will proceed with the document verification. For this, they need to upload the required document to the official portal. Thereafter, candidates need to pay the University fees to complete the admission process.
