CBSE 12th 2026 English Answer Key: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to conduct the Class 12th English Exam 2026 today, March 12, 2026, across various centres. As scheduled, the exam will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students are required to report to their respective examination centers by 9:00 AM, as the entry gates will officially close at 10:00 AM.
As per the rules, students will receive a 15-minute reading period from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM to strategise their approach before the writing session begins at 10:30 AM. According to the CBSE Exam pattern, the class 12th English theory paper will carry a total of 80 marks and is structured into three primary segments: Section A (Reading Skills), Section B (Creative Writing Skills), and Section C (Literature).Â
This year's pattern continues to emphasize competency-based questions, making up approximately 50% of the paper, including case-based factual passages and analytical literature extracts. - It is important to note that exceeding these limits by more than 10% can lead to a deduction in marks for "expression."
- A Notice must be strictly enclosed in a box.
- It must contain the name of the issuing organisation, the word "NOTICE" in caps, a descriptive heading, the date, and the body (mentioning what, when, where, and who).
- Do not forget to mention the name and designation of the issuer.

If well prepared, most experts suggest starting with Section B (Writing Skills) or Section C (Literature). However, a student can also start with Section A if he/she is a fast reader.
- Always read the questions before the passage.
- Read the questions of the passage as well, but don’t frame answers during the reading time.
- Read the passage again while writing the answers.
Students will be allotted 15 minutes (10:15AM to 10:30 AM) just for reading the question paper and strategising their answers.
- Students must use the first 5 minutes to quickly scan the Reading Comprehension questions so they know what to look for when reading the passage.
- Utilise the remaining 10 minutes to choose from the optional questions in Section B and Section C, to avoid wasting time later.
The CBSE Class 12th English exam 2026 will take place today from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students can spend this time:
- Reviewing the formats for Section B (Notice, Letter, etc.).
- Reading the summaries/themes of all literature chapters.
- Avoid starting new chapters; instead, work on how to present points using bullets or underlined keywords.
