School Holiday in Telangana Due to Rain: The Telangana government might consider announcing a holiday for educational institutions across certain districts due to hefty rainfall. Students can review the updates on the School Holiday in Telangana Due to Rain here for their reference. The authorities declared a holiday on August 19, 2024, for schools under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Rangareddy district. In recent news, lightning struck and seriously damaged the Sukhnivas Apartment in Panjagutta Colony. Additionally, dangerous circumstances were created when floodwaters flooded beneath the Malakpet major road railway bridge.

Latest: Due to the Bharat Bandh situation on August 21, 2024, the authorities might declare a holiday. Once confirmed, the same will be updated here.
Currently, only Adilabad is under watch and has a chance of rain.
Adilabad: As per the IMD, Light rain of less than 5 mm/hr with Light Thunderstorms is expected with a maximum surface wind speed of less than 40 kmph.
Areas of Ameerpet, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Nampally, Bashir Bagh, Himayat Nagar, Abids, Nampally, Kuthbullapur, Balanagar, Gajularamaram, Jagadgirigutta, Bahadur Palli, Suraram, Suchitra, Gundla Pochalli, Pate Basheerabad and Jete are receiving hefty rainfalls.
Warangal: There is a very low probability of rain as the city is under green alert. The school authorities are not likely to declare a holiday unless there are any dramatic changes in the weather.
Hyderabad: Since this morning, August 20, the city has been hit by severe rainfall. For this reason, the Telangana government has declared a holiday in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Rangareddy district schools.
Six people were killed by lightning in Hyderabad, while rain also lashed a few of the Telangana parents.
