UGC NET June 2024 Cancelled: Re-examination Dates to Be Issued Soon

UGC NET June 2024: The National Testing Agency has cancelled the UGC NET 2024 June exam conducted on Jun 18, 2024, for over 9 lakh students on account of its integrity being compromised. The decision has been made after securing information from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

Note that, according to the conducting authorities, the exam has been cancelled to uphold transparency and the sanctity of the UGC NET June 2024 examination process. Further, for a thorough investigation of the matter, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been handed over this case.

The official notification states, "The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR (pen and paper) mode on Jun 18, 2024, in two shifts across different cities of the country." Further, it said, "On Jun 19, 2024, the UGC received certain inputs from the I4C under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These inputs prima facie indicate that the integrity of the aforesaid examination may have been compromised."

Students must remember that the UGC NET re-exam dates 2024 are expected to be announced soon. Therefore, they should visit the official website regularly for updates. UGC NET June 2024 and NEET UG 2024 examinations faced a similar fate as they are under scrutiny following allegations of irregularities. 

With regard to the UGC NET exam is an eligibility test offering PhD admission, assistant professorship and Junior Research Fellowship to qualified students and NEET 2024, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated, "If any officials, including senior functionaries of NTA, are found guilty, they will not be spared, and strong action will be taken against them".
