TG 2nd Year Sanskrit and Hindi Exam Highlights
Sanskrit (Paper II) Exam Pattern
The question paper typically consists of 16 sections.
- Section 1-3: Long Answer Questions from Poetry, Prose, and Non-detail (6-8 marks each).
- Section 4-6: Short Answer Questions and Annotations (Sandharbha Sahita Vakya) from Poetry and Prose.
- Section 7-9: Very Short Answer Questions (VSAQs) covering all parts of the syllabus.
- Section 10-16 (Grammar): This is the scoring "booster" section. It includes:
- Sandhi: Joining and disjoining words.
- Shabdas: Noun declensions (presented in tables).
- Samasa: Compound words.
- Dhatus: Verb forms.
- Translations: Translating sentences from Sanskrit to English/Telugu and vice versa.
Hindi (Paper II) Exam Pattern
While similar in total marks, Hindi focuses on literary analysis and functional grammar.
- Part A (Prose & Poetry):
- Annotations: Explaining specific lines with context.
- Long Essays: Summarizing lessons or discussing characters.
- Short Answers: Focused on thematic understanding.
- Part B (Non-Detail): Questions based on prescribed stories or dramas.
- Part C (Grammar & Composition):
- Letter Writing: Formal and informal options.
- General Essay: Current or social topics.
- Grammar: Tense (Kaal), Gender (Ling), Number (Vachan), and Idioms (Muhavare).
- Translation: Hindi to English/Telugu or vice-versa.
