As per weather reports, due to a deep depression, heavy rain is likely to affect various parts of Tamil Nadu. There have already been three rain-related deaths reported in Tamil Nadu. In light of the ongoing natural calamity, schools in TN will remain closed on December 3, 2025.
In some districts like Chenani, Ranpet, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram, an orange alert has been issued. The residents are requested to stay indoors. The ongoing adverse weather conditions in several districts of Tamil Nadu have compelled the authorities to keep TN schools closed on December 3, 2025. Cyclone Ditwah has made landfall in the Bay of Bengal and is gradually shifting towards the northwest, bringing heavy to moderate rainfall in areas of Chennai, Puducherry, and Southern Andhra Pradesh. The district authorities declared a holiday to ensure the safety of students and staff amidst waterlogging conditions.
In most government schools, holidays were declared on December 2, and it is likely to continue on December 3. Besides rain, the Kotta Peralaya festival will also be observed in Kanyakumari District, which calls for a holiday in schools and colleges.
