NEET UG Exam 2024 Supreme Court Updates: The Supreme Court of India is currently hearing a series of pleas from various students who had appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024. Due to various alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for undergraduate medical college admissions, students have moved to the Supreme Court of India to cancel this year's NEET 2024. Candidates who have appeared for the NEET 2024 Exam on May 5, 2024, can check the detailed NEET UG Exam 2024 Supreme Court Updates here. In short, the controversy over the NEET UG 2024 Exam started due to accusations of mass question paper leaks and cheating. Some of the petitioners, who are also students who attended the examination, are requesting a re-exam for all the students who appeared for the medical entrance examination, whereas the rest of the petitioners are against this request.
On this issue, both the central government and the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the medical entrance examination for undergraduate programs, have argued against canceling the NEET UG 2024.
As per the recent NEET UG Exam 2024 Supreme Court Updates from various reports, a bench comprising the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra is presiding over the case.
According to reports, during the hearing on July 18, 2024, the Court noted that the controversy regarding the question paper leak is supposedly limited rather than widespread. As a result, the Supreme Court also expressed its doubts regarding the cancellation of the medical entrance examination. According to the bench, it is not justifiable to cancel a national-level exam and conduct a re-exam based on such a limited leak of the question paper.
On July 22, 2024, the Supreme Court of India directed the Central government and the NTA to provide all information about the use of a set of question papers stored at Canara Bank branches.
According to the NEET UG Exam 2024 Supreme Court Updates, one set of question papers was stored at the State Bank of India (SBI) branches, whereas the others were stored at the Canara Bank branches. These extra sets of question papers were stored in these places as a backup in case there was any discrepancy or leak. Despite this arrangement, some of the questions appearing from the Canara Bank were used in some of the exam centres for NEET UG 2024.
Therefore, due to so many anomalies, the Supreme Court has directed NTA to provide all the details on this issue, which was submitted to the bench today. All the arguments on behalf of the petitioners were concluded yesterday, July 22, 2024, whereas the Centre and the NTA have presented their arguments today, July 23, 2024.
One must note that the NEET UG Exam 2024 Supreme Court Updates are crucial for aspirants. Therefore, it is advised to keep up with all the latest updates regarding the NEET-UG 2024 Controversy.
