How To Take Live Photos For NEET 2026 Application?
NEET 2026 aspirants have to upload their live photograph at the time of the filing of the application form. This live photograph will be cross-checked with the image in the Aadhaar database. In instances where the live capture does not match the UIDAI records, or for candidates using non-Aadhaar identity verification, an additional layer of authentication is required. These new rules are currently active for all applicants. Here’s how to take live photos for NEET Application 2026.
1. NTA Requirements: Ensure that the physical set up meets the NTA requirements.
- Light-colored (preferably white) wall background.
- The light source is in front so the face is clearly visible without shadows.
- The candidate's face must occupy 80% of the frame. Ensure that ears are visible, and do not wear a mask, tinted glasses, or a cap.
2. USE Webcam/Mobile/QR Code: Candidates using a laptop or a PC with a webcam, simply click Allow when the browser asks for camera permissions. However, if the candidate's desktop doesn't have a camera, they can look for the QR code on the right side of the application screen. Scan this with their mobile phone or tablet to use the mobile camera for the capture3. Capture Image: Look directly into the camera lens, not at the screen and maintain a neutral expression. Click the Capture Photo button. Review the image and use the retake option if it is blurry or the lighting is poor.
3. Verification and Upload:The system will automatically attempt to match live photos with Aadhaar database images. Upon successful match, candidates can proceed to the next steps. However, if the system cannot verify identity against the Aadhaar records, candidates will need to follow the alternative verification route by uploading a signed and attested certificate (Annexure-VI) from a Class-I Gazetted Officer or their School Principal.
Once the photo is successfully synced, candidates must ensure it appears clearly in the uploaded documents preview section before submitting the NEET 2026 Registration and Application final fee.
