Maharashtra CET Cell to Conduct MHT CET 2026 Twice
According to a recent development, the CET Cell will now conduct engineering and management entrance examinations for admission to Maharashtra institutions twice a year. This framework of two sessions of the exam is similar to the Joint Entrance Exam administered by NTA. The first session of MHT CET is expected to be held in April 2026, and the second session by May 2026.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Patil, Education Minister, attended by Additional Secretary B.Venugopal Reddy, CET commissioner Dilip Sardesai, and Higher Education director Shailendra Deolankar, among others. While speaking on the decision to conduct CET twice, Patil said that at the national level, JEE is held twice a year, which offers students two opportunities to appear for the exam. Similarly, Maharashtra students will now get two chances.
Students don't need to appear for the next session if they find their first attempt was satisfactory. In case students appear for both sessions, then the highest score in any of the sessions will be considered for admission.
