Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam: Ahead of the commencement of the Second Pre-University Course (PUC) examination on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has released a statement dispelling rumours of a question paper leak doing the rounds on social media.
The allegation is that “blurred photographs of Kannada, English, and Mathematics exam question papers are circulating through various social media accounts, and some people are seeking a payment of 100 via message saying, 'If you pay INR 100, then you will get the question paper.
A few videos and posts have gone viral on Instagram, with miscreants allegedly attempting to cheat students by saying they will provide the Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam question papers in return for a price.
KSEAB President Prakash Nittali has vehemently disputed the claims, calling them "completely false and baseless." In an official statement, the board highlighted:
- Fabricated Content: The “leaked” papers are either old papers from prior years used for examination practice, or fake papers printed deliberately to confuse students.
- Security Protocols: A multi-layered security system has been developed by the board, including “webcasting from all 1,217 examination centres” and strict control of the facilities used by the Treasury Department to store papers.
- Police Investigation: Cyber police are tracking social media accounts pushing misinformation. “Strict action will be taken under the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and the Education Act against anyone selling or distributing fake papers,” the board added.
The second PUC examinations will be held from February 28 to March 17. A total of 7,10,363 students have registered for the tests, which will be held in 1,217 venues. To maintain the integrity of the test process, webcasting has been made mandatory in all centres.
The board urges students and parents to rely solely on the official website (kseab.karnataka.gov.in) and to ignore unverified claims that could jeopardise their academic careers.
