JEE Main Exam Postponed for West Bengal: According to the latest media reports, the National Testing Agency revised the exam dates for the Joint Entrance Examination for the second time in a row; earlier, the last exam date was changed from Jan 30 to 29. The dates for Jan 23 have now revised that will apply only to the candidates who will be appearing for the engineering entrance from West Bengal. On January 23, Sarwawati Puja will be celebrated across West Bengal, which might disrupt the national-level exam.

JEE Main 23rd Jan 2026 Exam Postponed for West Bengal Due to Saraswati Puja
In view of the requests received from the candidates of West Bengal, the National Testing Agency decided to postpone the exam on 23rd January. Saraswati Puja is dedicated to the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and art, which will be celebrated across all the educational institutions in West Bengal on January 23, 2026. The clash of a national entrance with a regional festival can result in issues in the conducting of exams at the exam centre because of cultural festivities.
So, looking at the inconvenience taht might happen, the JEE Main 23rd Jan 2026 exam has been postponed for West Bengal candidates, while for other states no changes will be made to the scheduled date. NTA is expected to soon declare the revised date for the Jan 23 examination on its website.
