Will There Be Tamil Nadu School Holiday on 13 November 2024 Due to Rain: As per the India Meteorological Department(IMD), schools all over Chennai have been closed due to heavy rain on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. As per the reports, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next three days till November 15, 2024, in several districts of Tamil Nadu. Following the alert, the district collector declared a holiday for all schools in Chennai on November 12, 2024.

Likewise, IMD has also stated that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Villuppuram districts, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

Also, the Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stated that “till this morning, Chennai has recorded only 3.2 cm of rain. Based on the direction of our CM, we have inspected all the ICCC (Integrated Command and Control Centre) centres of Chennai Corporation. We have enquired about the impact of today’s rain and the arrangements made by GCC. There is no report of flooding in any area and 21 out of 22 subways in Chennai are operational. The one subway that is closed is also due to train work. Based on the study of the impact of rains in October, we have increased the number of motor pumps and volunteers. The Tamil Nadu government is fully prepared for the rains”.
