UGC NET Scorecard 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the UGC NET Result 2025 for the December session today, February 4, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the exam can access their UGC NET Scorecard 2025 for December by logging in through their Application Number and Date of Birth.
Around 7,35,592 candidates appeared for the computer-based UGC NET 2025 December session exam held across 85 different subjects from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026. Qualifying candidates will be eligible for Assistant Professor posts, the Junior Research Fellowship, and for PhD admissions.
According to the UGC rule, only 6% of the candidates will be eligible for the Assistant Professor posts, subject to category-wise reservation. According to the NTA, the qualifying marks for General (Unreserved) / General-EWS category candidates are 40% (in both papers 1 and 2), and for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and Third gender), the qualifying marks are 35%.

The UGC NET Scorecard 2025 will include the candidate’s name, roll number, application number, father’s name, exam date, candidate’s category, candidate’s mother’s name, marks and percentile obtained in each paper alongwith percentage of marks. What’s Next After The Release of UGC NET December 2025 Scorecard?
Here’s what happens after the release of UGC NET Result 2025 for December:
- Candidates will download their scorecard and check the Qualification status (JRF / NET / PhD only).
- The authorities may ask candidates about their UGC NET Result and certificate during the admission process. Therefore, candidates are advised to safely keep their certificates.
- Candidates qualified for Assistant Professor will apply for teaching positions as and when vacancies will be available.
- Those qualified JRF will become eligible for funded PhD programmes and research fellowships.
- Qualified candidates who have not achieved JRF will also be eligible for PhD admissions based on NET scores and an interview.
Candidates must note that the Assistant Professor eligibility through UGC NET remains valid permanently. However, the JRF certificate is valid for three years from the date of the result. For PhD admissions without JRF, UGC NET scores are valid for only one year. It is highly recommended to keep the physical as well as soft copies of the UGC NET Scorecard 2025 for December.
