TNEA 2025 counselling includes the following steps:

1. Choice Filling: Candidates will have to exercise their choices of colleges and branches based on their preferences. The order of choices is important and a candidate can exercise any number of choices.
2. Seat Allotment: Candidates' allotment will be based on the preferential order of choices according to their rank, community and availability of seats.

TNEA Rank List 2025: Admission Process

Tamil Nadu Engineering admission is based on Class 12 marks. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling is a centralised process conducted online and at the state level. The TNEA admission process includes the following steps:

1. TNEA counselling registration on the official website tneaonline.org.
2. TNEA application filling and certificate uploading.
3. Allotment of TNEA random numbers.
4. Online certificate verification by TFC.
5. Publication of TNEA rank list & grievance redressal.
6. Online TNEA counselling, which includes choice filling, seat allotment, seat confirmation and reporting at the allotted college.

TNEA Rank List 2025: Tie-Breaking Factors

Candidates shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below.

1. Percentage of marks in Mathematics
2. Percentage of marks in Physics
3. Percentage of marks in the optional subject
4. Percentage of total marks in 12th Standard Examination
5. Date of birth (elder will be given preference)
6. TNEA random number assigned (higher value will be given preference)

TNEA Rank List 2025: Normalization Process and Ranking

The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination (Class 12) conducted by various Boards or Authorities shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.

TNEA Rank List 2025: Marks Vs Percentile

The candidates will be selected in the TNEA merit list based on their performance in the prescribed subjects, which will be scaled down to a total of 200 marks (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50) in the qualifying examination - class 12. TNEA Rank List 2025: Counselling Process

The TNEA Counselling 2025 process includes the following process.

• Choice Selection: The candidates have to list their preferred courses and colleges in the order of preference.
• Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted as per the candidate's preferences filled during choice-filling, merit position in the admission procedure, category to which they belong, and vacant seats present at the time of allotment.
• Confirmation of Seat Allotment: Candidates who are allotted a seat need to accept the same within the time frame which will be notified subsequently.
• Downloading Allotment Letter and Reporting: After a seat is allocated, the candidates need to download the provisional allotment letter from the website and report to the college that has been allotted to them to complete and finalize the rest of the admission.
