TN TET 2025 Qualifying Marks: TheSchool Education Department has taken a major decision regarding the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TN TET). According to the recent reports, the Tamil Nadu Government has reduced the TN TET 2025 Qualifying Marks by 5% for both papers. The report suggests the reduction in Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test Qualifying Marks will be applicable for candidates from backward and marginalised communities, including Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Persons with Disabilities.
According to the revised norms, the minimum qualifying threshold for TN TET 2025 has been lowered by 5% for candidates in the BC, BC(M), MBC, DNC, and PwD categories. Adding to it, a reduction of 15% has been granted to candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and the Scheduled Tribes (ST). However, the qualifying requirement for the General category remains unchanged at 60%.

TN TET 2025 Qualifying Marks Revised
Candidates can compare the revised TN TET 2025 Qualifying Marks:

Until now, to qualify for the TN TET, General category candidates needed to secure a minimum of 60% (90 out of 150 marks). And candidates from reserved categories, including SC, SC(A), ST, BC, BCM, MBC, DC, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) needed 55% (82.5 out of 150 marks).
Further, following a proposal by the Director of School Education, the TNTET qualifying criteria have been restructured to align with those established in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Maharashtra. The revised TN TET 2025 Qualifying Marks will be applicable to the TET exams conducted in November 2025 too.
