SSC Revises Disability Format: The Staff Selection Commission made significant changes to the disability certificate formats for ease in the recruitment process. As per the guidelines issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, an updated certificate form is expected to improve the verification process and strengthen uniformity across SSC recruitment procedures.
Two forms have been introduced for people with single disability and those with multiple disabilities. Earlier, there were three forms V, VI, and VII. Major Updates in the Disability Format by Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
The major decision by SSC to bring changes to disability form formats comes after revisions adopted by DEPwD in a notification dated October 16, 2024. As per the notification, for the upcoming SSC examinations, two forms will be accepted. However, those who have submitted earlier formats won’t be rejected.The candidates are requested to visit the official website of SSC to review the new forms V and VI; form V is meant for single disability, while form VI is to be issued by those with multiple disabilities. It should be noted that older formats will remain valid only during the transitional period.
The commission has notified regional as well as sub-regional offices to ensure they update all recruitment notifications regarding the revision of new disability certificate formats. For a smooth and transparent recruitment process, the guidelines of the commission need to be maintained by the candiadets.
All the PwD candidates are requested to download the SSC disability format for form V or VI as per their disability status from the SSC website. They must ensure to use these new certificate formats when applying for any upcoming recruitment administered by SSC.
