Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi met the Economic Advisor of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of Oman, H.E. Dr Said Mohammed Ahmed Al Saqri at Davos in Switzerland. In a social media post, Mr Joshi said that during the meeting, he highlighted India’s proven ability to scale renewables – solar, wind, Green Hydrogen and energy storage even in arid and desert conditions, offering strong opportunities for global investors. The Minister said that the discussions focused on joint collaboration on manufacturing and export opportunities for solar modules, electrolysers and green hydrogen.

The sixth edition of the Khelo India Winter Games has started in Leh city of Ladakh. Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the event. Players from 21 States and Union Territories will compete in Ice Sporting Events-Hockey and Skating. An Akashvani correspondent reports that the Opening Ceremony of the Sixth Khelo India Winter Games 2026 was inaugurated today at NDS Stadium in Leh.
Maharashtra has signed 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), worth an unprecedented 14.50 lakh crore rupees, on the very first day of the World Economic Forum, being held at Davos. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state Industries Minister Dr Uday Samant, reinforcing Mr Fadnavis’ assertion that Maharashtra is the Gateway of India for industry and investment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today highlighted the rise of India’s textile sector. Sharing an article written by Union Minister Giriraj Singh for a national daily in a social media post, Mr Modi talked about the transformation of the textile sector from a traditional, legacy industry into a powerful, job-creating and people-centric engine of growth. He noted that the sector reflects the true spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by strengthening domestic manufacturing.

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan today inaugurated the Mahadev Desai Library Extension and released the book Age of Enlightenment: Mahatma Gandhi’s Vision in New Delhi. India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to double bilateral trade to 200 billion dollars by 2032. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today conducted search operations at 21 locations across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002.
