CBSE Class 10 Science Exam Analysis 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education held the Class 10 Science board exam on February 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. As per the students, the exam was considered moderate in difficulty level. This year's science exam was more difficult in comparison to last year's.
Soni, a CBSE class 10th student of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, said that Biology and Chemistry were easy. According to Soni, solving numericals was difficult and time-consuming, and the Chemistry part was simple. She also added that Biology was the easiest of all. According to the teachers, the paper was moderate and balanced with a strong focus on NCERT concepts.

- Overall, the exam was moderate, with easy, conceptual questions (which required detailed reading) being the majority. Most multiple choice questions (MCQ) weren't necessarily hard or difficult; however, they were based on certain competencies and had an emphasis on thinking critically vs remembering factual information (i.e., how someone would think about/use a concept from/after reading their NCERT).
- The case studies were also designed to evaluate each student's ability to understand how certain concepts would be used in real life & therefore would assess each student's reasoning: capability to understand what was expected (based on their understanding) vs the actual data provided to each candidate.
- The physics section was having most questions from the theory part, with fewer numerical problems. The Chemistry portion was rather simple, with numerous NCERT activity-based questions that focused on chemical reactions, characteristics, and reasoning-based explanations. Biology questions were primarily concept-driven, assessing comprehension using illustrations, labels, and thorough explanations.
Based on the above, the moderate difficulty level as presented here indicates that the students who have prepared correctly (according to the right method) and used or studied the NCERT textbooks would perform well in this year's CBSE 10th Grade Science Exam.
