Maharashtra School Holiday 30 September 2025 Due to Rain: Several parts of Maharashtra have continued to receive intense rainfall in the past couple of days. The IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has issued yellow alerts and orange alerts for most parts of Maharashtra. As of September 29, 2025, Nashik, Palghar, Thane, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Raigad, and Pune were on red alert by the IMD, with a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall followed by thunderstorms and strong surface winds. If the situation continues to degrade, there is a possibility of a Maharashtra School Holiday on 30 September 2025 due to Rain. The state and district governments are on alert. 

According to IMD, Nashik, Palghar, Thane, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Raigad, and Pune are on the orange alert on September 30, 2025. These districts may receive heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. The water level in the Godavari River in Nasik has also crossed the warning mark amid torrential rains. Raigadh and Ratnagiri districts have reported landslides. Schools and colleges in several districts, including Mumbai and Palghar, were closed today, September 29, 2025.

While most of the schools were closed today, students in the orange and yellow alert areas may expect a school holiday on September 30, 2025 in Maharashtra due to rain. The administration may issue directives to ensure the safety of students and staff. Teachers and non-teaching staff should remain on alert and cooperate with local administration.

Deputy CM Mr. Eknath Shinde and CM Mr. Devendra Fadnavis have reviewed the flood-like situation and ongoing relief operations in several districts. Further, in Thane and Palghar rising water levels have raised concerns; as a result, administration is preparing to relocate residents from danger areas.
