JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Live Updates: Expected Release Date, Last 3 Years Trends

Many students are anxious to know whether their JEE Mains 2026 exam will be in the morning or evening shift.

This information will be available only after the admit card is released. The city slip does not indicate shift timing. Currently, NTA has not notified any exact date for the JEE Main hall ticket to be released. Once the admit card is out, the shift timings and other important details will be available to the students.

NTA allows diabetic candidates carry eatables or certain drinks, considering their health conditions. Diabetic students can carry the following things inside the examination hall

• Fruits

• Sugar tablets

• Transparent water bottle having juice

Note: Candidates will not be allowed to carry packaged foods such as chips/chocolate/sandwiches etc.

Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the JEE Mains 2026 examination room,  which you must use and return to the invigilator at the end of the test. All rough work must be done on these sheets only. You can ask the invigilator for additional sheets if you need them. Candidates will not be allowed to bring your their rough paper. 

To download the JEE Main admit card 2026, candidates have to keep their application number and password ready.

The following things cannot be carried inside the JEE Main exam centres:

• Electronic items and instruments such as a Mobile Phone, earphones, a Microphone, a Pager, a Calculator
• Instruments such as DocuPen, Slide Ruler, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder
• Any type of watch, including electronic watches with a calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the examination hall/room

What to wear:

• Wear simple, plain and comfortable clothes to avoid undergoing exhaustive checking
• Try wearing half sleeves clothes that are light and do not have many drapes
• Complicated hairstyles or clothing will lead to a longer frisking session
• If you wear any religious attire please reach out before the time for thorough frisking

What not to wear:

• Avoid wearing clothes that have metal attached to them (underwired bras, belts etc)
• Avoid wearing any kind of jewellery or other accessories
• Do not wear shoes with thick soles. Candidates wearing shoes have to face longer frisking/checking procedures.
• Do not wear garments with large buttons.
• Do not wear fancy stoles, scarfs, watches, sunglasses etc

Candidates should take care of the following things to be prepared for the JEE Main 2026 exam day:

• Visit your JEE Main exam centre a day before the exam to familiarise yourself with the location and assess factors like time and distance.
• Ensure you reach the test centre at least an hour before the reporting time mentioned in your JEE Main 2026 Admit Card. Candidates reporting after the gate closes, will not be allowed to enter the test venue. Candidates will be undergoing various mandatory processes, thus reaching on time is important.
• Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of the rough sheets and must return them along with the admit card to the Invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
• Enter your required details in the attendance sheet in legible handwriting, put your signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression and paste the Photograph at the appropriate place. The Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.
• JEE Main aspirants will be required to enter the required details in an attendance sheet provided by the invigilator. Candidates are also required to paste their coloured passport-sized photograph which should be the same as that in the application form.

• JEE Main Physics Questions: Physics questions are twisted and often seen as the most challenging section in the JEE Main exam. The trick to solving Physics questions is to bring the problem to a familiar situation to reduce complexity. The ideal time to attempt a physics question is 85 - 90 seconds.
• JEE Main Chemistry Questions: JEE Main Chemistry is divided into Physical, Organic, and Inorganic. Candidates are often advised to solve chemistry first in the JEE Mains as the solutions are directly compared to physics and math. The average ideal time to attempt a chemistry question is 60 – 65 seconds.

JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in 399 Indian and 25 foreign cities. Candidates can check the exam/test centre allotted to them and also the time & shift of their exam by logging on to the official JEE Main website using their application number, password, and security pin.

Candidates are prohibited from taking certain things to the JEE Main 2026 Exam Centres. These objects are listed below:

Non-Aadhaar applicants of JEE Main 2026 will have to upload their Photo Verification certificate by January 15. The document is available through login and all details have to be filled and submitted.
