JEE Advanced Toppers' Preferences: IIT Bombay Most Popular Since 2019

JEE Advanced Toppers' Preferences: The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) is conducted every year for students who wish to join the premier technological institutes in India that are the 23 Indian Institute of Technology. The JEE Advanced Toppers' Preferences for the IITs is firstly IIT Bombay and is seconded by IIT Delhi for the last 5 years, since 2019.

To answer which IIT is most popular among students, it is safe to that IITB is the most popular by a significant margin. The candidates that secure the top 1000 ranks in the JEE Advanced Exams generally apply for the top 10 IITs, with the IITB being the most preferred. IITB is followed by IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Kharagpur in the top 5 places in the candidate's preferences.

There has been significant drop in the number of toppers choosing IITM and IITKGP. While the number topped in 149, the trend for IITM has been dropping ever since. Similar is the case for IITKGP.

When one observes the trends over the last few years, it can be seen that newer IITs and converts are also gaining popularity. While the established institutes like IITM and IITKGP has seen a drop in the number of students opting for them, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee and newer institutes like IIT Hyderabad has seen a rise in the number of students choosing them. However, IIT Indore, which is also a new institute has not been opted by very few toppers.
