The GATE EE 2023 question paper, as per comments and reactions from candidates and subject experts, was of moderate difficulty level. The general aptitude section moderate to difficult and the core subject part was moderate.

- The most important chapters were Math, Power Systems, Signal Systems, Electrical Machine and Network Theory. These sections contained 6-9 questions each.
- The Power Electronic (SCR, SCD), Control System and Analog chapters has 3-5 questions
- The least number of questions appeared from EMM, EMT, Digital and microcontrol.
