GATE 2026 Official Website Launched: Know When Registration Begins

GATE 2026 Official Website Launched: The official website for GATE 2026 has been launched, and registrations for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will start from August 25, 2025, through the GOAPS portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

The deadline for regular registration without a late fee is September 25, 2025. However, candidates missing this window can still register by paying a late fee until October 6, 2025. Candidates wanting admission to postgraduate engineering programs such as MTech, ME, and PhD at IITs, NITs, and other reputed institutes can apply online by the above-mentioned dates. This year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, is the organising body for GATE 2026. The exam is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. GATE 2026 Results will be announced on March 19, 2026.

To apply on the GATE 2026 Official Website, candidates must create a candidate login on the GOAPS portal, upload necessary documents as per the prescribed format, and pay the registration fee, which is Rs 2000/- for general candidates for regular period of application (i.e. from August 25 to September 25, 2025) and Rs 1000/- for reserved categories for normal application window as aforementioned. For the extended period, i.e. during the late fee application phase, the application fee will increase by Rs 500/- for both general and reserved categories. The application process involves verifying eligibility, filling out the form accurately, and submitting it within the stipulated timelines.
