GATE 2026 Exam Important Instructions: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will commence the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 Examination on February 7, 2026. - GATE 2026 candidates must reach the GATE examination centre at least one hour before the exam commences.
- Candidates are advised to read the instructions and read the questions carefully and quickly.
- Do not forget to take the GATE 2026 admit card and a valid ID proof (Aadhar card, PAN card, passport etc.). Check that all the information is published on the GATE 2026 hall ticket.
- Candidates must carry their passport-sized photographs. The photographs should be the same as presented on the GATE 2026 hall ticket.
- Candidates should cooperate with the staff and invigilators regarding the checking process.
- Candidates must remain in the examination hall for the full 3-hour duration; leaving before the exam ends is strictly prohibited.
- Only the GATE 2026 admit card, original ID, a simple pen or pencil, and a transparent water bottle are permitted inside the GATE Exam Centre 2026.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, physical calculators, bluetooth devices, wallets, belts, jewelry, and study materials are strictly prohibited.
- Wear simple, comfortable clothing. Avoid clothes with many pockets or large metal buttons. Sandals or flip-flops are recommended over closed shoes, which may be asked to be removed outside.
