DUSU 2025 Election LIVE Updates: Delhi University Voting Time, Result Date

The DUSU 2025 Election peacefully concluded today in two shifts. Around 2.75 lakh students cast their vote at 195 booths across 52 polling stations. Results will be declared tomorrow for the four key panels - President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary, along with other college-level office representatives. 

DUDU 2025 Election voting ends at 7:30 PM today. Candidates will have to wait till tomorrow for the result. Voting counting will begin at 8:00 AM onwards in the Multipurpose Hall, University Sports Stadium, North Campus, University of Delhi. 

ABVP has filed a police complaint against former DUSU President Raunak Khatri over allegedly entering KMC forcibly and assaulting a female student.

First time voters expressed their excitement by comparing DUSU voting security with larger polls. 

With the enforcement of the Lyngdoh Committee's anti-defacement guidelines, Delhi University is able to witness the clean and green elections in years.

The SFI-AISA alliance highlights campus infrastructure, fee hikes, and opposition to political interference in faculty appointments. 

The NSUI campaign prioritizes women's safety, better sports infrastructure, hostel infrastructure, hygiene, and more facilities.

The Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) president candidate Ayra Mann , a MA Library Science student, has promised free WI-Fi, concessions in metro passes, improved sports infrastructure, and accessibility audits for physically-challenged students.

According to the Chief Election Officer, this year there will be an increase of about 50,000 voters as compared to the previous year.

Last year, the Delhi University Election Committee received over 25 complaints and 9 show-cause notices to seven central panel candidates. This year, the Delhi High Court has barred victory processions in the capital after results. Poster wars are restricted.

Following the Delhi High Court order dated 2018, which was reinforced in 2024, Delhi University has notified strict guidelines for conduct of DUSU Elections 2025.

• DU has constituted a University Committee for Prevention of Defacement of Property (UCPDP) to oversee compliance across all campuses.
• The election will be conducted in strict compliance with Lyngdoh Committee guidelines.
• Each DU college has been asked to constitute a committee to monitor poll-related activities.
• DU college principals have been appointed to act as "anti-defacement heads" for their respective campuses. They will ensure that posters, banners, wall writings, and hoardings are not permitted within or around the college.
• Contesting candidates had to submit a written undertaking along with nomination forms stating that they and their supporters will not indulge in defacement or violation. 
• Violations of rules could attract a fine of around Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 and up to Rs 1 lakh.

According to a post on X by Gagan Yadav, Founder and National President of IRO, DU student Divyanshu Yadav will contest for the presidential post from ballot number 4 as an independent candidate.

Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has been accused of continuing campaigning even after the deadline was over 24 hours ago.

Out of 82 candidates who filed nominations for four key panels, only 73 were found valid:

• President - 21 candidates 
• Vice President - 15 candidates
• Secretary - 20 candidates
• Joint Secretary - 15 candidates

Goons accompanied by current DU President Raunak Khatri, allegedly manhandled a Kirori Mal College student causing her to fall, and a mob ran over her.

The Delhi University has issued an important advisory for all staff, facility, and students regarding vehicle parking. 

“There will be restrictions on the movement of vehicles on Chhatra Marg, Probyn Road, and University Road on 18th and 19th September 2025 due to the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) Elections 2025.”

The following key measures are adopted to ensure an election without disruption:

• Tightened Security on Campus
• 600 policemen
• 160 officers equipped with body-worn cameras
• CCTV Cameras
• Drone Tracking
• Deployment of 700 EVMs
• Dedicated pedestrian routes for students
• Traffic diversions around North Campus

The DUSU 2025 Election Shift 1 voiting ends. The second shift will begin at 3:00 PM

Nearly 700 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) across 195 polling stations are used for conducting the elections. 

The NSUI Presidential candidate Joslyn Nandita Chowdhary posted a video on X where the name of "Aryan Maan", presidential candidate of ABVP, was marked with blue ink.

This year, 21 students are contesting for the four key panels. 

This year, the authorities have included students from the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP), which has increased the voter base to 2.75 lakhs. 

• Shift 1: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Shift 2: 3:00 PM - 7:30 PM

The shift 1 polling for day college students commenced at 8:30 AM.
