CBSE Credit System: Check the Changes Proposed for Classes 9-12
CBSE has suggested a few modifications in the academic coursework for Classes 9 and 10. Under the existing list of subjects in Classes 9 and 10, the council has suggested including more multidisciplinary and vocational courses. Candidates who will be studying in classes 9 and 10 are required to complete ten subjects in total, out of which three must be language subjects, and the remaining seven subjects must be core-related.
In the current scenario, students are required to study only five subjects, out of which two are language subjects, and the other three subjects are core-related. The proposition of the inclusion of 10 subjects will be a significant difference when compared to the current academic framework as per the proposition of the CBSE Credit System.
For students who are in the CBSE Board Exam 2024, the council recommends that these students in classes 11 and 12 must study at least six subjects, where two subjects must be language-based and the other four elective subjects. Students will be given a choice of a fifth optional subject.
