According to the BIEPA, to pass the Maths 2A theory exam, students must score a minimum of 26 out of 75 marks, which is 35%. Additionally, students must secure at least 9 out of 25 in the practical/internal assessment to be fully cleared. Not only this, but besides passing individual subjects, students must maintain an overall aggregate of 35% across all subjects to be declared "Pass."
The AP Board awards 1-2 marks for Formula, 2 marks for substitution, and Logical Flow. Even if a student’s final calculation goes wrong in a 7-mark question, they can still secure 4 to 5 marks by showing the correct process.
For most of the students, the exam was of moderate difficulty level. It is easy to score above 65 in this paper. However, the paper was indeed lengthy because of which a lot of students were not able to revise the paper. Subject experts note that while the questions were familiar, the Statistics and Probability sections required detailed steps. This made the paper feel lengthy for students who didn't manage their time well in Section A.
Kartik says,” The overall paper was as expected according to me. Section A was easy, Sections B questions were of moderate level with some tricky questions, and Section C questions were lengthy and timetaking.
According to Lichawi the paper was of moderate level. However, a few questions in Section B were tricky which made her spend more time in section B. Time management was a problem. She only completed 5-10 minutes before the final bell.
The final bell rang and with this the AP Intermediate 2nd Year Maths 2A Exam 2026 concluded. Invigilators will collect the answer booklets. Students will exit the examination hall soon. Stay tuned for live feedback and exam analysis.
The 15 minute warning bell buzzed across all centres. The exam will be over after 15 minutes at 12 PM. As per the rules, students are not allowed to leave the examination hall before 12 PM even if they have completed their paper.
Students only have half-an-hour to complete their paper. The AP 2nd Year Maths 2A Exam 2026 will conclude at 12 PM. Students will now be tackling the final section of the question paper.
It is expected that 2 marks questions in Section A would be like:
- Finding the square root of a complex number
- Calculating the modulus of z
- Finding the rank of a word in Permutations
- Simple Mean/Variance calculations for a Poisson distribution
- Finding the Locus of a complex number
- Resolving expressions into Partial Fractions
- Solving Quadratic Expressions
- Questions on Baye’s Theorem
- Solving Arithmetic Progression (A.P.) or Geometric Progression (G.P.)
The AP Intermediate 2nd Year 2026 exam follows the standard 75-mark pattern without changes. It remains a 3-hour test divided into 10 Very Short Answer Questions of 2 marks each, 5 out of 7 Short Answer Questions of 4 marks each, and 5 out of 7 Long Answer Questions of 7 marks each.
Because of direct and formula-based questions, Sections A and B of Maths Paper IIA are generally considered scoring. Section B, which includes 4-mark questions, is particularly vital for students aiming to reach the 60+ mark range.
Based on the trends from the last few years, the paper is expected to be "Moderate." While Sections A and B are usually on the easier side, one or two questions in Section C (Long Answers) may be indirect or require lengthy calculations.
As per the schedule, the AP Intermediate 2nd Year Maths 2A Exam 2026 started at 9:00 AM. The exam will be conducted for 3 hours and will hence conclude at 12 PM. Students can get the exam analysis and answer key from our subject experts shortly after the exam concludes.

Subject experts suggest dividing the exam time depending on the marks allotted to each section:
- First 20 minutes on Section A,
- 60 minutes on Section B
- 90 minutes on Section C.
- Leave the final 10 minutes for checking their question numbers and recalculating final values.
Here are the top chapters that guarantee passing marks:
- Binomial Theorem (Weightage: 16 Marks)
- Probability (Weightage: 15 Marks)
- Partial Fractions (Weightage: 4 Marks)
- Random Variables & Probability Distributions (Weightage: 9 Marks)
- Complex Numbers (Weightage: 8 Marks)
Quickly revise the Addition and Multiplication theorems, as well as Bayes’ Theorem. These are important for both 4-mark and 7-mark questions and often involve predictable textbook models.
Finding the n-th roots of unity and solving equations like xn+1=0 are the most repeated 7-mark questions. Students must ensure that they practice the substitution of cos θ correctly to secure full marks.
Students must carry their original AP Inter 2nd Year Hall Ticket 2026 and a valid photo ID like an Aadhaar card. It is crucial to note that students will not be allowed to enter the examination centre without a physical copy of the hall ticket.
According to expert’s views and previous year’s trend’s analysis, students should prioritize Binomial Theorem, Probability, and Random Variables. These chapters typically contribute the most to Section C, accounting for nearly 35 marks of the total paper.
The AP 2nd Year Maths 2A Exam is officially scheduled for today, March 4, 2026. It will be conducted in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM across all designated centers in Andhra Pradesh. Students are advised to visit their examination centres at least 60 minutes before the exam time.
