WBCHSE Introduces New Syllabus for Class 12: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education made a significant change to the Class 12 syllabus. Five new subjects have been introduced including AIDS, EVSC (Environmental Science), FSAQ (Fisheries and Aquaculture), BMBS (Business Mathematics and Basic Stats), and BMSS (Basic Mathematics and Social Sciences). Earlier two subjects namely Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Technology were started however the council dismissed them rather than introducing AIDS (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) as one subject.
The revised curriculum for class 12 from 2025-26 sessions onwards will allow students to broaden their knowledge base across a wide spectrum of subjects. Candidates can check the revised details of WBCHSE's new syllabus for class 12 here.

The council specified certain eligibility guidelines for all the newly introduced five subjects for students and others alike. As a principal objective behind introducing new subjects is to ensure high-quality education to students hence measures are taken to hire the right teachers. Schools must hire teachers for the new subjects based on their qualifications and subject knowledge.
