After the declaration of PGP and Ph.D. results for the academic session 2020, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya, has decided to host a virtual orientation ceremony for the newly admitted batch. IIM Bodh Gaya will host a two-day orientation cum induction ceremony on the 21st and 22nd July 2020 which will host a bench of distinguished speakers as well as intellectuals who will delineate the quintessential aspects of the corporate world to the students.
IIM Bodh Gaya is all set to welcome its inaugural batch of Ph.D.s for the academic session 2020-2024 as well as the sixth batch of Post Graduate Programme 2020-2022, having 5 and 180 students respectively.
What should you look forward to in the Orientation Program?
Day one: 21 July 2020?
According to the schedule published by IIM Bodh Gaya, the first day of orientation ceremony will start at sharp 7:45 am and last till 4:45 pm. The auspicious inaugural ceremony will commence by the lightning of the lamp, followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’. The first day of the two-day long ceremony will witness welcome addresses by various guest speakers followed by a motivational talk titled “Turning Setbacks into Comebacks” by Mr. Shiv Khera, Author, Educator, and Motivational Speaker.
The talk will be followed by a panel discussion titled “Managing Uncertainties”- by distinguished panellists: Mr. DV Shastry, Mr. Anil Bhasin, and Prof. Vinita Sahay. The panel discussion will be a detailed talk on the practical knowledge required to be inculcated by the students so that they are ready to face any sort of challenge which comes their way.
Day two: 22 July 2020
Day two will commence at sharp 8:30 am and last till 05:30 pm. A mini-workshop titled “Mindfulness Session” by Mr. Sean Fargo will be conducted first thing in the morning. The interactive session shall be followed by important presentations by the Chairpersons of various disciplines. The presentations shall incorporate all the basic details which a student should get acclimatized with.
This will be followed by a panel discussion titled “Capabilities/skill sets needed in new-age jobs” by eminent panellists: Mr.Pankaj Kumar, Head Training Capabilities, Development, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel. Mr. Aditya Pal Singh, Head Talent Acquisition India, Informatica, and Prof. Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Assistant Professor IIM Bodh Gaya. This remains one of the most important and detailed sessions for the students.
The panel will discuss and give insights to the students regarding the key skills which they need to possess to shine bright in the ever-changing corporate world. The orientation program shall conclude by a motivational talk titled “Turning Inwards: Vedanta and the Science of Happiness” by Swami Swarvapriyananda (Vedanta Society) so that the students can embark upon a new journey of their lives with absolute optimism.
