Uttar Pradesh government has closed all the schools in the state till 30 April 2021. The decision to close the schools was taken yesterday when the state reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases. The government has ordered that schools and coaching centres be closed until further notice. However, the pre-scheduled examination can be held.
Earlier on 2 April 2021, the UP government had closed the schools and colleges until 11 April 2021 for the students of class 1 to 8. However, due to the recent surge in the COVID-19 cases, the schools and colleges will remain closed till 30 April 2021. As per the government statement, Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, ordered the night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am in the state.
The decision to close all the government and private schools were taken as the Uttar Pradesh state reported its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic outbreak. Hence, once again, all offline classes at schools and coaching centres will be on hold until 30 April 2021. But pre-scheduled exams will be held without any delay.
