Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test (2019) is likely to get conducted in January 2020. While speaking to the media, the Secretary to Exam Regulatory Officer, Bhushan Chaturvedi said the dates for UPTET will be announced shortly. He also said that the Basic Education Board of Uttar Pradesh is in works for determining the dates for the exam at the earliest. The dates for Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test 2019 will be announced in two days he said.
Chaturvedi’s Media Conduct: Major Takeaways
Since there are only very few days left in December it is almost impossible to conduct the exam before the year ends, so most likely that exam will only be conducted in January 2020. Chaturvedi also expressed his concerned regarding the internet ban at different regions in the state due to which many candidates were unable to download the admit cards. Admit Cards for the exam were already released by the board previously in the official website.
UPTET 2019: Reason for postponement
Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test 2019 was supposed to be conducted on December 22 2020, later internet services got banned in several parts across the state and the board had to postpone the exams due to the difficulties faced by the internet ban. The internet ban was launched to put down the rising CAA protests in different states.
The Internet ban and the Exam postponement affected sixteen lakh fifty eight thousand students who were to attend the exam at 1986 examination centers all across the state.
About UPTET 2019
UPTET have two examination papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is to recruit teachers’ for Primary classes’ i.e., from classes 1 to 5 and Paper-II is for recruitment of teachers’ for Upper Primary sections i.e., from classes 6 to 8. The candidates applying for the exam will have to make sure they qualify the eligibility criteria for both the papers.
