The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), in an official notification has released the details of the upcoming Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2020.
Candidates are required to complete the application process by October 15, 2019. The examination will be conducted for a total of 495 vacancies in various group A and group B services in civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics and telecommunication streams respectively.
Candidates can withdraw their application later if they do not wish to appear for the engineering services exam. The Commission has provided the withdrawal facility from October 22 to October 28 till 6 pm IST. The Engineering Services preliminary exam will be held on January 5, 2020. UPSC IES/ESE 2020 Examination Details
UPSC conducts IES (Indian Engineering Services), every year. This is the entrance exam for engineering candidates of technical graduates to serve under the government of India. UPSC ESE consists of various sectors like Railroads, Telecommunication, Public Works, Powers etc. UPSC ESE exam consists of five tests conducted in three-stages by the UPSC for recruiting IES personnel.
UPSC ESE 2020 will be conducted for technical graduates from the engineering field in the following disciplines under the central government namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
UPSC ESE 2020 Examination Pattern
The preliminary exam has objective type questions of 500 marks, duration 3 hours, and the Mains exam will be conducted for a total 600 marks and duration will be total 6 hours.
Post exam, candidates who qualify both the exam are called for Personal Interview which is the last stage of recruitment. The selected bunch of candidates for the Personality Test is usually double the number of vacancies to be filled.
UPSC ESE 2020 Exam Registration
- Details to be provided: While filling the application form candidate will be required to provide their basic personal and education details.
- Application Fee: General/OBC candidates will have to pay INR 200 whereas SC/ST/PH/Female candidates will be exempted from paying any application fee. The exam Application fee can be paid in both online and offline modes respectively.
UPSC ESE 2020 Admit Card
The Availability of Admit card and other details will be updated once it is released by the conducting authority. Admit card will be issued three weeks before the commencement of the examination. For downloading the admit card of UPSC ESE 2020, the candidates will have to submit their application number, date of birth and security pin respectively.
