The University of Hyderabad or UoH is all set to conduct the final term examination for its postgraduate students from 16 September 2020. Candidates must visit the official website for further details. The University has been consulting the respective department head for a viable option of conducting the examination.
Open Book Examination Yet Again?
The University of Hyderabad spokesperson, Professor Vinod Pavarala, mentioned the various feasible mode of conduction of examination. Out of which, the Open Book Examination (OBE) mode is finalized as of now. Under which, the students will be receiving the question paper and will be given two to four hours for writing the answers. Thereafter, the students will have to scan their answer sheets and upload the same in a PDF format. Special measures will be taken for the PwD students so that they are not at a disadvantage.
According to the department heads, although the mode of conduction will be OBE, the question paper will contain analytical questions and will test the practical knowledge of the students. This will be done to make sure that there is no scope for the students to copy and paste from the study material at hand or the internet itself.
The students will be evaluated on a 50 mark question paper. The rest will be compensated by the internal assessment marks and other research papers which the students would have submitted early this year.
The department heads said that the students need not be present on a video call or continuously use the internet while writing the examination. However, some departments have decided to hold an oral examination to test the knowledge of the students. But the examination will not be worth 50 marks.
The University of Hyderabad will be conducting the PG and Integrated Course Entrance Examination from 24 to 26 September 2020. The schedule is already out, and the registered students are waiting for the admit cards to be released. The candidates must keep visiting the official website for the latest news.
