The Uttarakhand Government has canceled the UKBSE class 10 board exams and postponed the class 12 exams due to a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the state. The exams were scheduled to commence on 4 May 2021 and continue until 22 May 2021.
Students appearing for the class 10 Utrakhand board exams will be promoted to the next academic year based on the marks obtained in the internal assessment and pre-boards while class 12 students will have to wait for the new exam schedule.
Arvind Pandey, the education minister of Uttrakhand tweeted, “In view of rising Covid19 cases in the state, the state board has decided that it is in the best interest of the students for cancelling examinations for Class 10 while defer the exams for class 12”.
He added that a review meeting on 1 June 2021 will be conducted by the board to make any decision on the postponed exams. Hence, the the revised date for class 12 exams will be released in June by the authorities. Students should keep visiting the official website of the Uttrakhand board to get updates regarding the exams.
In addition to Uttrakhand board, many other boards like CBSE, CISCE, etc have decided to cancel the class 10th exam and postpone class 12th exam till May and June. Many national level entrance exams like NEET, JEE Mains, and others have also been delayed.
