UGC NET December 2019 Examination Details

NTA Postpones UGC NET 2020, To be Held from 24th September

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) details on its official website.

National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2019 application process will conclude on October 9, 2019. The examination will be held from December 2 to December 6, 2019. The Last day for Application Fee Payment is October 10, 2019. UGC NET 2019 Exam Pattern 

Exam pattern for UGC NET is decided by National Testing Agency (NTA).

UGC NET will comprise only two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Earlier, this exam included three papers. Total Number of Questions- 150 (Paper1 – 50, Paper2 – 100). It is mandatory to attempt all questions from both the papers. Paper 2 will cover syllabus of both Paper 2 as per the previous pattern of UGC NET.

For economics in UGC NET, this exam will have two papers after Paper-1. Paper-2 will be having 50 questions which will be based on contemporary topics of the subject. Paper-3 will be tougher than it. Paper-3 will have 75 questions which will deal with in-depth study of Economics. 

UGC NET 2019 Exam Details 

UGC NET 2019 Admit Card will be issued to students on November 9, 2019. The admit card will be available to download from the official website of NTANET. The admit card is an important document which a candidate has to carry to examination hall. Along with his/her admit card, candidates will also have to carry a government-approved ID card and a photograph.

This Exam will be conducted in 91 UGC NET 2019 Exam Centres across India. Candidates will get an option of choosing 3 exam centers of their choice while filling the application form. Once an exam centre is allotted, it cannot be changed. Seats will be allotted based on availability.

The scorecard or result card will not be mailed or sent by post. UGC NET 2019 Result will be announced on official website on December 31, 2019. Candidates are advised to take a printout of their result for future reference. This will be proof of their eligibility for getting the fellowship.

After declaration of result, conducting authorities announce about the counselling on the official website. UGC NET 2019 Counselling is only for candidates who clear the examination. 

UGC NET Cut off is decided by the conducting Authority. A cut off is the minimum qualifying marks candidate has to score to be eligible for the post of Assistant professorship and JRF. A separate cut off list will be prepared for category wise eligibility and subject wise eligibility.

Candidates who score marks that are eligible for Assistant professorship or Joint Research Fellowship (JRF) under UGC NET 2019, will be called for the counseling. During their counseling, candidates will be allotted to the postings they have applied for only if they are eligible.

How to prepare for UGC NET 2019?

Applicants should keep following steps in mind while preparing for UGC NET 2019. 

Time management is the key to success

Aspirants will have to write two papers so they should plan their course of action dividing time for each question. In addition, don’t spend too much time over one question. That may reduce your chances to cover most of the questions.

Analyze previous year papers

Solve Previous year paper and mock papers of UGC NET. This will give you an idea about how questions in the exam will be framed. Changes in question paper over the years can be well predicted if practiced with heart.

Use of flash cards.

To enhance memory retention, you can use flash cards. Preparing these for the important concepts which are hard to memorize can be very useful. You can paste them on a wall to take your preparation to the next level.
