
The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design or UCEED was conducted successfully on 17 January 2021. The exam is conducted by IIT Bombay to test the eligibility of students wishing to secure a seat in the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program offered at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and 15 other institutes that accept UCEED scores. As per the students who took up the test, the questions were comparatively easy with some sections leaning a bit towards the difficult side.

The questions included in the exam covered a vast span of topics. Sections like Visualization, Spatial Ability, Design Thinking and Problem-solving, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning were a bit on the tough side. These section tests the student’s skills to identify problems, generate alternatives, evaluate options, and select solutions. They are also curated to test the knowledge of students in practical and theoretical concepts.
Sections like Environmental and Social Awareness, Language and Creativity, and Observation and Design Sensitivity were comparatively easy. These sections the candidate’s language and grammar skills, attention to details, general awareness and knowledge about the social issues, and the ability to think out of the box.
